Apple confirms which Mac’s will be able to run OS X Mountain Lion
Apple has released details of which Mac models will be able to run there shortly to be released OS X Mountain Lion operating system.
To upgrade your Mac must be one of the following models:
- iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
-
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
-
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
-
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
-
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
-
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
-
Xserve (Early 2009)
If you are running Lion you can find out which Mac you have by clicking on the Apple icon, top right and selecting About This Mac, then clicking on More Info. Your Mac model will be displayed in the box.
If you are running Lion you are all set for the upgrade, however if you are running Snow Leopard then you need to install the updates available before attempting to upgrade to Mountain Lion.
The final step is to download and install OS X Mountain Lion from the App store when it becomes available.
