The Benefits of Dual Monitors

IT Tip of the Month – The Benefits of Dual Monitors

For this month’s tip, we’d like to highlight the benefits of using dual monitors for your PC or laptop.

There are two different styles of connecting your PC to a dual screen – Mirrored Mode (where your screen is duplicated on another monitor, projector screen or wide screen TV) and Extended Mode (Where you can different programs running on each screen).

The main benefit or Mirrored Mode is of course that you can use it for presentations or for displaying videos running on your PC.

Extended Mode however comes in handy at your desk, as if you have a lot of things running on your PC it means you can have more than one thing on the go at one time without having to flick back and forth between windows.

Mainly, we use Extended Mode to keep our Outlook on screen at all times, allowing us to keep tabs on e-mails while getting on with our work.

Pretty much all PCs these days have the facility to plug in a second monitor, while some will also come with an HDMI slot for even easier attachment to your TV set.
