What We’ve Been Up to This Month – BITS to the Rescue
If you’ve ever read any of our marketing material or visited the IT Support section of our website, you’ll have seen that one of our pledges when monitoring your IT equipment 24*7 is that we will aim to fix any issues before you even notice them.
An example of that came up this month when we detected a failed drive on a client’s server – a potentially serious issue for any business – and had logged a warranty call for a replacement before they were even aware there was a problem. In fact, they only found out about it when we informed them of the solution.
In other news, this month also saw us help another one of our clients – a Design company based in Warminster - when they lost their internet connection.
In our experience as an IT support company that works with firms of all shapes and sizes, it’s not unusual to find that when a client loses their internet connection, the more ‘well known’ Telephone/Broadband providers don’t share their urgency in getting it fixed.
In this case, it would take two whole days for them to get round to sorting the problem, so BITS stepped in to provide an interim solution by supplying them with a router designed to support a mobile Sim Card, and thus business went on as usual.
Finally this month, we’ve installed a Small Business 2008 Server for an Arabic Translation company in Salisbury. They were very keen to explore the remote aspects of SBS to allow their employees to work out of their office with great ease.
