Windows 7 Mobiles – What’s the story?

Earlier this year, we wrote a few articles about the benefits of Smart-Phones such as the iPhone and ones run using the Android operating system. But we’ve also been asked by a few customers about the new Windows Phone 7 mobiles which have just been released in the UK.

Microsoft has started from scratch with their mobile phone operating system as the old one was left trailing behind by its rivals, and from what we’ve seen, they’ve done a pretty decent job this time around.

Much like Windows 7, Phone 7 is very big on simplicity. Indeed, Microsoft claim that on average it requires 20% fewer steps to perform the same tasks than on the iPhone or Android phones.

From what we can see, it’s easy to use and crucially it works with the same programs as your PC, like Outlook, Office, Windows Live and Internet Explorer. So if learning to use one set of programs is enough for you, then a WP7 might be your best pick.
