IT Support - Added Safety for Mobile Sales Force

Spam Frittered

Did you know that 90% of all e-mails sent are spam?

Whether it’s that extremely generous Nigerian Prince who wants to give us $57 million dollars if we send him our bank account number or the bogus ‘pharmaceutical company’ looking to sell us some suspiciously vague ‘pills’, it is something that bugs us at home and at work.

But while it’s just an irritation for some of us, it can be quite costly for others. You could miss vital e-mails or accidentally ignore a client as they get lost in the shuffle.

One Service company based in West London recently came to us for help as their inboxes were being flooded with literally hundreds of spam e-mails a day. They were ending up spending a significant chunk of their working day weeding through the junk to get to the relevant ones. We solved their problem by installing a Spam Filter.

Put simply, the filter works by checking where each mail is sent from - as well as specific word and spacing combinations that are synonymous with spam - before it arrives in your inbox. Any mail arriving from known spam servers are rejected immediately, while suspect e-mail is sent to a ‘holding bay’ where the user can check the sender and permanently blacklist them or give them the green-light.

If you’d like more information on how we can help you remove your spam.

You can easily contact us by email, via our enquiry form or simply call us on 01373 888 333. Posted by Lee Edge on 13/10/2009
