A recent survey sponsored by BT Business found that many UK businesses are spending too much time and money on IT issues.

Some are wasting more than 20 hours per month and as much as £5,000 per year dealing inefficiently with IT issues.

The key findings from the survey were:
• 36% of firms are experiencing IT problems on a daily basis.


• 66% are having some kind of issue more than once a week.


• More than half of those surveyed said slow computers were the most frustrating problem.


• 23% said loss of e-mail was a regular problem.


• 20% of small business owners are relying on friends and family for IT advice rather than using a reputable provider.

A common misconception amongst businesses is that they have to arrange support from the original supplier. Some do not know that they can cover this with a local provider.
