Microsoft Office 2010 on the Horizon

Office 2010

Another year and another big release from Microsoft – this year, it’s Office 2010.

With an expected UK retail release date of June 30th, the new Office package looks to be the slickest yet.

Here are three examples of the many updates you might be interested in…

Built-In Screen Capture Tool: While you’ve always been able to take screen captures from your PC by typing Alt + Print Screen, it was never implemented properly into Office. Now you can do it with the click of a button and save a variety of screenshots at the same time.

Background Removal Tool: In the past, if you wanted to add part of an image to a Word or PowerPoint document, you’d have to edit it first in Photoshop or a similar program. Now, all of this can be done for free as part of Office. Very handy in our opinion!

Save PowerPoint Presentations as Movies: This is a great feature that people have been asking for for years. While it was previously only possible with specialist software, you can now export your PowerPoint presentation into a WMV (video) file, maintaining all your effects and animations. This will allow far more flexibility in how and where you want to make a presentation.
